The item itself is really well made. Solid wood, and a nice hard sandpaper finish... The key is to spend a bit of time, reload the box several times, and allow the dog to scratch and retrieve treats... Sometimes I'll cheat and hold it slightly shut with my foot to get her to scratch fast.
